Allow me to introduce Ranger…
But on a serious note, Ranger is as sweet as they come. He loves everyone, including kids (check out the pics below of him playing so gently with my 2 year old niece), and is very playful. He came with his very own baby pool and LOVES splashing around and laying in the water. Neutered, house trained, crate trained and healthy; a total package! Even his high pitched girly bark is adorable. He doesn't know any tricks and needs some work on the leash, but hey nobody's perfect :)
Ranger came from a home in Maryland (the product of a backyard breeder), where he had a family. When asked why they were surrendering him, his previous family stated that he played too rough, needed training and was "too stressful" to deal with. So they gave him away. Just another example of our disposable society that throws in the towel when things get a bit rough. Another case of people who think they can just give their problem to someone else to deal with and go on with their lives. I always want to ask people who surrender their pets, 'so if your children grow up and become “too stressful” will you be giving them up as well?' Speaking of children, these parents have just shown their kids that animals are disposable and can be gotten rid of when you don’t feel like being bothered with them anymore. It’s so aggravating.
So the next few weeks/months will be spent working with this little guy while we search for his new home. Another lesson in patience wrapped up in a spotted silly package.
Know anyone interested in adopting Ranger, send them my way!
